Our good friend recently had surgery. Despite the fact that it was a sort of major surgery, we were humored to find out that he was not nervous but in fact excited because the surgery was to be performed robotically! Our initial idea was to have him holding a tiny version of the stereotypical robot in the painting, in the palm of his hand, but the ideas spiraled from there into the card we ended up creating. Domo Arigato, Dr. Robotowitz. It has a nice ring to it.
